Biography

Mehgan Rose Abdel-Moneim is a dance, performance and visual artist based in Philadelphia. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Studies from Bard College, where she also studied dance technique and composition. Mehgan’s visual art practice is a shifting exploration of found object sculpture, interactive installation, photography, painting and more. Though she works in several disciplines, sustainability is always central in her art practice.

Since moving to Philly in 2018, Mehgan has shown original works with KYL/D’s 2020 InHale Performance Series, HOTBED Philly, InLiquid, and the Painted Bride Art Center. Beyond Philadelphia, she presented shows with The Secret City Art Revival in New York, EDANCO in the Dominican Republic, and Breaking Walls Festival in Egypt.

Mehgan currently works as a freelance artist and as the Lead Teaching Artist with Asian Arts Initiative.
